Project Data
Across 6 floors, Sixty-Six Burnett Street development provides 50 residential apartments and 29 serviced apartments in North Hobart. The project features 7-star rated energy efficient construction materials.
Since Zero Davey Boutique Apartments, this is the second project that Fairbrother has undertaken for the client. The 3,014m² construction site was formerly the Donald Gorringe car repair centre.
The project building phase was completed five weeks ahead of schedule, within an exceedingly tight time frame. Achieving this impressive feat, notably required project management, design and construction of the sixth floor. Following this, to satisfy the fire rating, Fairbrother integrated a sprinkler system throughout the building.
The project team at Sixty-Six Burnett Street successfully overcame significant challenges. Such as: COVID19 disruptions, rising materials costs, sewer main upgrades concurrently completed in conjunction with building, and access to site difficulty. The project team completed the complex, challenging construction of 14 different apartment unit types. Fairbrother established a great rapport with the surrounding neighbours and improved project efficiency by installing a tower crane. Materials were ordered critically as needed, and imported from Chinese suppliers, with no tolerances and planned around the Ukraine War.
Sixty-Six Burnett Street leverages construction innovation to deliver the developer’s dream of infill housing to North Hobart.
