The Port Sorell Retail Development was constructed in two stages on a greenfield site. The area was developed in order to better serve the fast-growing area of Port Sorell, Shearwater and Hawley.
Stage 1 comprised the construction of a Woolworths store, three tenancy spaces and a carpark. The supermarket space features a 1500m2 trading floor and a 300m2 arcade entry space while the three tenancy spaces have a total area of 600m2. At 6000m2 carpark is big enough to accommodate 182 cars.
Stage 2 of the project comprised an additional five tenancies, totalling 1500m2. These tenancies include a franchise of The Reject Shop as well as a Salvos store.
A stand-alone 265m2 BWS store with a drive-through canopy also sits on the development site. There is space for future expansion of both the Woolworths store and tenancies.
