Bendigo Foodshare Supporters

Fairbrother is thrilled by the rapid progress of construction on the Bendigo Foodshare warehouse project.  

From the commencement of this project in late 2023, we have seen the concrete slab poured, structural metal framework erected, and we are continuing to push toward delivering this valuable community facility in the latter half of 2024.  

The construction of this new warehouse has been a remarkable community effort, and we have nothing but gratitude toward the more than 25 companies who have donated time, products, services, expertise, and more to see this community asset be built. The donations signboard on site is only a sample of those who have partnered with us in this project. This massive outpouring of industry support shows how important Bendigo Foodshare’s programs are within the region. 

The new facility will come close to tripling the organisation’s warehouse capacity, allowing for a significant increase in their ability to provide food assistance to the community. With around 13,000 people being helped each week under existing programs, the new warehouse will assist many more which, given the 60% increase in need seen to the end of 2023, is vital. 

“Our new warehouse has been a dream for some time,” said Bendigo Foodshare CEO Michelle Murphy when we broke ground on the project. “The long-term vision is for this to be a space where everyone can get involved in growing and accessing nutritious, affordable food and where new ideas in food security can flourish.”
